CHOCOLATE KISS COOKIES 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Granulated sugar
1 (9 oz.) bag Hershey's kisses chocolates

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, shortening, and peanut butter until creamy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; blend well. Mix in flour, soda, and salt. Roll small spoonfuls of dough into 1 inch balls, then roll balls in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. As soon as they come out of the oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center. Cool and eat. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
