CREAMY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH
CARAMELS
 
2 c. sugar
Dash of salt
2 c. white syrup
1/2 c. butter
2 c. half and half
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, salt and syrup. Cook to 245 degrees stirring occasionally. Gradually add the half and half and chunks of the butter so slowly that mixture does not stop boiling. Stir constantly until it returns to 245 degrees. Remove from heat, add vanilla and mix well. Pour into buttered 9x9 pan. Cut when cool.
