MY PICKLED BEETS 
2 cans drained, sliced or whole beets
1 c. beet juice
1 1/2 c. sugar & 1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. vinegar
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 tsp. whole allspice

Put all of the above except beets in boiler and let come to a boil. Simmer until sugar is thoroughly melted. Pour this over the sliced beets and keep refrigerated after it cools. I use a quart jar to keep mine in but any covered container will do.
