HUNGARIAN NOODLE DISH | |
8 oz. box thin noodles 1 sm. jar lekvar (prunes) 1 sm. jar apricot preserves 1 c. grated walnuts 3/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter Cook noodles for 8 to 10 minutes and then blanch with cold water. Return to the stove and add the butter. Mix thoroughly until melted. In an 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan, layer the noodles, alternating with lekvar, noodles, mixed walnuts and sugar, then the noodles again. The last layer will be topped with the apricot preserves and walnut-sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 3/4 hour. Serves 9. |
