SOUR CREAM SPICE POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp. mace
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. sour cream
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and eggs until fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well. Add soda to sour cream and let stand while beating egg yolks and sugar. Add sour cream. Mix mace with flour and add alternately with sour cream. Add vanilla and lemon extract.

Bake in 2 tube pans (9 inch) or 1 loaf pan (9x12) or Bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cover with aluminum foil if top browns too quickly.
