LARGE SOUR CREAM SPICE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
2 c. flour
pinch of salt

Cream shortening and brown sugar together well. Add 2 beaten eggs. Put baking soda in the sour cream and add to dry ingredients above. Mix well. Add the raisins and nuts, if desired.

Pour batter into a greased 10 x 13-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F approximately 35 minutes.
