GUMDROPS 
4 tbsp. Knox gelatin
4 c. sugar
1 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. boiling water

Dissolve Knox gelatin in cold water for 5 minutes. Place sugar and boiling water on fire. When sugar is dissolved add gelatin and boil for 15 minutes. Rinse shallow pans (bread pans) in cold water. Add flavoring desired and food coloring desired in part of candy, pour into pan until 3/4 inch thick. More than one flavor may be made from a batch of candy. Let chill, cut into 1 inch squares and roll in powdered or granulated sugar. Let set until firm on wax paper.

This candy recipe was one of my mother's. She always made it for Christmas and gave tins of candy to all the neighbors as a gift. Dave and I have always made this as one of our favorite Christmas Candies. Our children carry on this tradition.
