"PAW" SHIELDS KIOKEE HUSHPUPPIES 
1 c. self-rising flour
2 c. Martha White white cornmeal mix
1 1/2 c. chopped onions, not Vidalia
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. chopped or ground green hot pepper
Beer
Buttermilk

Mix above well, then blend in 2 medium eggs. Using approximately 1/2 buttermilk and 1/2 beer mix to thick cake batter consistency. (Caution: Do not stir any more!) Let sit for at least 1 hour.

Spoon into deep fat (about 1 rounded teaspoon at a time). Cook until hushpuppies are golden brown. Oil is at proper temperature when a pinch of dry meal dances on top of oil.
