SOFT PRETZELS 
1/2 pkg. dry yeast
3/4 c. warm water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 c. flour

Soft yeast in warm water. Add salt and sugar. Mix in flour and knead into soft, smooth dough.

Cut immediately into small pieces before it can rise. Roll the dough into pencil-thin ropes and twist into pretzels. Place on cookie sheet covered with foil and dust with flour. Brush pretzel with egg and sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes until light brown.
