EASY BAKED ALASKA 
8 Mary Ann sponge cakes
Vanilla ice cream

Cover cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place individual sponge cakes on it. Place 1 ball of ice cream on each cake.

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. sugar

Whip egg whites; add cream of tartar. Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff.

Cover each cake and ice cream completely with meringue. Make sure to seal each one. Can be frozen until ready for use. Bake at 500 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes on lowest rack. Serves 8.
