GLAZED APPLE SQUARES 
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
4 apples, peeled, cored & sliced

TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

1. Cream 1/2 cup butter with the two tablespoons sugar. Add eggs and sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Pour into a shallow greased and floured baking tin. Cover with the sliced apples and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes.

2. For topping, mix together the 1/2 cup butter with the confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Spread over the hot cake. Cool and cut into squares. Serves 6 to 8.
