SCALLOP CASSEROLE 
1 lb. scallops
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chopped onions
1-1/2 c. diced celery
1 c. fresh or a can of mushrooms
1/4 c. melted butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
1 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. grated cheese
3 tbsp. melted butter

Spread the scallops in a baking dish. Sprinkle with salt. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in pan; add the onions, celery, and mushrooms. Let stand a few minutes at low heat. Make white sauce with 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/4 cup flour, and 2 cups milk. Add this to the ingredients fried in butter. Spread this mixture onto the scallops.

Cover with the bread crumbs, grated cheese and melted butter.

Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes or until it is a golden color.
