TIJUANA TORTE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies (opt.)
1 (1 1/4 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix
12 tortillas (corn)
1 lb. cheddar cheese, grated

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet. Add stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chilies and taco seasoning mix. Combine thoroughly and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Place about 1/4 cup meat mixture in bottom of a 13"x9"x2" baking dish. Place 2 tortillas side by side on meat mixture. Top each tortilla with some meat mixture and grated cheese. Repeat until each stack contains 6 tortillas layered with meat and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut each stack into quarters before serving.
