DEER STEW 
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. beer
2 (1 oz.) pkgs. onion gravy mix
1/4 tsp. liquid smoke
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground thyme
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 lbs. deer meat
2 carrots
2 potatoes
2 c. frozen lima beans
1 c. frozen corn
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper

In a mixing bowl blend water, beer, gravy mix, liquid smoke, brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper; set aside. Cut meat into 1-inch cubes. In a Dutch oven brown meat in oil over medium-high heat. Add mixture to Dutch oven.

Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add carrots and potatoes; recover. Cook 30 minutes longer. Add beans and corn; recover. Cook 20-30 minutes longer.
