SAKURA MOCHI | |
1 1/2 c. domyoji ko (purchase at Japanese candy store) 1 1/2 c. water 1/4 c. sugar Red food coloring 2 1/2 c. an 12 sakura leaves Place sugar and water in a bowl and add a bit of red color to make a light coloring. Add the domyoji ko and mix. Bring to a boil and cover. Take off heat and let rest about 10 minutes. Soak cherry leaves in lukewarm salted water a few minutes and set aside. Divide dough into mochi portions, fill with an, place in steamer. Steam for 4-5 minutes on medium heat. After steamed, wrap in cherry leaves. |
