SWISS LYONNAISE (Swiss Steak) 
2 tbsp. seasoned flour
1/8 tsp. basil, crushed
1 1/2 lb. round steak (3/4" thick)
4 med. onions, cut in half
1/2 c. canned tomatoes, chopped
1 can mushroom gravy (Franco American)

Pound seasoned flour into steak with meat hammer or edge of heavy saucer. Brown meat in a little shortening, pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Uncover and cook to desired consistency.
