SWEET DOUGH ROLLS | |
1 c. milk 1/4 c. Crisco or lard 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 cakes yeast or 1 lg. household yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 2 eggs 4 or 5 c. flour Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Scald milk and add shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Beat the eggs. Add in about half the flour. Knead on lightly floured board and add remainder of flour as needed. Place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise double. Push down and form into rolls or a coffee cake. Let rise again. |
