2 c. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. mashed strawberries
2 1/2 c. water
Few drops of red food coloring

Mix sugar and cornstarch together in saucepan; add 1/2 cup mashed strawberries (a little water may be added to make 1/2 cup). Stir real well, add 2 1/2 cups of water and red food coloring. Cook slowly, stirring mixture until it thickness.

Wash and clean strawberries, also have your baked crust baked and ready. Pour a little filling into pie shell. Layer strawberries, add the rest of the hot mixture over the strawberries. Place in refrigerator. Serve with whipped topping. Umm Umm Good!
