1 c. blackberries
1 c. blackberry juice
2 c. sugar
2 c. shortening
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
Pinch of salt
Flour until thick

Mix all ingredients together with a mixer like any other cake. You can add nuts and raisins if desired. Bake in a tube pan at 450 degrees until done. Use toothpick to test.
