CARAMEL NUT POUND CAKE | |
1/2 lb. butter 1 box light brown sugar 5 lg. eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. granulated sugar 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. vanilla Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar a little at a time; beat well, add granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in tube pan 1 hour and 30 minutes at 325 degrees. |
