CARAMEL NUT POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 box light brown sugar
1 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1 c. finely chopped nutmeats

Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar and thoroughly mix. Gradually add granulated sugar. Continue creaming until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Sift baking powder and salt with flour. Add with vanilla and then nutmeats. Blend well. Bake at 325 degrees for 90 minutes. Cool in pan before turning out of pan.
