APPLE ROLL POLY 
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. lemon rind; optional
2 tbsp. lemon juice; optional

Boil these ingredients 10 minutes. Pour into baking dish.

BISCUIT DOUGH:

2 c. flour
1/4 c. shortening
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk

Roll biscuit dough into rectangle. Cover to edge with 3 cups of chopped apples. Sprinkle 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon on apples. Roll up as for jelly roll and cut into slices. Arrange in dish with boiled mixture. Dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake at 375 degrees until apples are tender and biscuit browned.
