TOMATO BASIL SAUCE 
1/4 c. olive oil
1 c. chopped onions
8 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 cans (35 oz. each) plum tomatoes, drained
2 tbsp. tomato paste
2 oz. fresh basil
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

Saute onions and garlic in saucepan over medium heat. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Cover and cook 10 minutes, stirring once. Add basil and pepper. Cook a couple more minutes, uncover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove from heat, cool and process briefly in blender or food processor. Serve over your favorite noodles.
