PRUNE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. milk
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda mixed with 1 tsp. warm milk

Cream sugar, butter and Crisco. Then add eggs one at a time. Add flour and other dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add the vanilla and prunes. Then add the baking soda and warm milk mixture. Bake at 350 degrees in 2 large 8 inch layer pans and 50 to 60 minutes at 325 degrees if using a 9 x 13 inch pan.
