1/2 c. butter
4 c. sliced onions
1/2 c. sliced mushrooms
1/4 c. flour
1 c. chicken broth
1 c. light cream
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. bread crumbs

Melt 1/4 cup butter and saute onions. Melt other 1/4 cup butter in frying pan. Add mushrooms, flour, broth and cream. Cook until thick. Add salt and pepper. Layer onions and sauce in large casserole beginning with sauce. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
