SPICE CUPCAKES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. shortening
2 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, water and shortening in a saucepan and bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Let cool overnight. Add flour, baking soda and vanilla and mix by hand. Pour into 12 muffin tins.

Bake at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes.
