FRENCH TOAST 
6 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
Oil for frying
8 slices bread
Maple syrup
Powdered sugar or tart jelly
1 tbsp. cinnamon or all spice

In a shallow bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, salt, and sugar with wire whisk. Place the oil, about 1 tablespoon, in the skillet and heat over medium heat. (You may have to add more oil as you go along.) Dip the bread into the mixture (egg and milk) 1 slice at a time. Place each dipped slice into the hot oil in the frying pan. Do not overlap or crowd the pieces.
