BRAISED BEEF WITH MUSHROOMS 
1 1/2 lb. lean stewing beef
1/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. oil
1 onion, chopped
1/2 stalk celery, finely chopped
1 tsp. salt
1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 tsp. finely chopped parsley
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Pinch of pepper
Pinch of thyme (optional)
1 tsp. minced garlic
2 c. beef stock

Cut beef into 1/2 inch cubes. Dredge with flour. Brown in hot oil at medium high temperature. Lower heat. Add all remaining ingredients except mushrooms. Simmer for 2 hours or until beef is tender. Add mushrooms the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
