FIRST LADY'S PRALINES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
2 c. pecan halves

Blend sugar, salt and milk. Cook to 232 (soft ball stage). Remove from heat, add vanilla, butter and pecans. Beat until candy begins to thicken. Drop by tablespoon onto wax paper. Work fast for candy hardens fast. Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
