RAISIN ROCKS 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg (unbeaten)
1/2 c. sour milk
1/2 c. molasses
1 c. seedless raisins or currants
1/2 c. nutmeats, coarsely broken

Sift flour once; measure. Add baking soda, salt and spices. Sift together 3 times. Work butter with spoon until creamy. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg. Beat well. Add flour alternately with combined milk and molasses, a small amount at a time, beating until smooth after each addition. Add raisins and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet.

Bake in hot oven (400°F) for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 3 dozen Rocks.
