DANISH PUFF 
2 c. flour (level), divided
2 sticks butter (1 c.), divided
Water
1 tsp. almond extract
3 eggs

Cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup flour, add 2 tablespoons water, mix, shape into a ball. Separate into 2 balls. Spread on ungreased cookie sheet into 3 x 13 inch strip (one for each ball). Melt the remaining butter in 1 cup water, bring to a boil, remove from heat. Add almond extract, and remaining flour, mix until smooth. Add eggs, ONE AT A TIME, beating until smooth after each.Spread on dough strips. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Frost with a thin confectioners sugar icing and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
