MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. cocoa
3 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1 bag mini marshmallows

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Sift flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes at 300 degrees. Remove from oven and spread marshmallows over top of cake. Return to oven for 5-7 minutes. Cover with chocolate frosting.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
4 sqs. melted chocolate
1/4 c. milk

Cream butter. Beat in 1 1/2 cups sugar. Add salt, egg, vanilla, and chocolate. Blend. Beat in remaining sugar with milk.
