DEEP DISH CRANBERRY APPLE RAISIN
PIE
 
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. ice water
3 tbsp. unsalted butter

FILLING:

2 1/2 lb. Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and sliced
1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. cranberries
1 c. sugar
1 c. Golden raisins
1/3 c. shredded orange peel
1/2 c. fresh orange juice

GLAZE:

1 egg, beaten with 1 tbsp. sugar

Mix ingredients for filling and let stand at room temperature 30 minutes. Prepare crust. Put filling in 10 cup souffle dish. Cover with dough and vent. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Glaze. Continue baking at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve warm with orange sherbet or vanilla ice cream. Serves 8. Bake at 375-400 degrees.
