ANISETTE 
1 qt. alcohol 190 proof
1 gal. distilled water
3-4 cinnamon sticks
2 pieces licorice sticks
Skin from 2 oranges
2 lb. sugar
Pure anise extract flavor

Boil water. Add sugar, cinnamon sticks, licorice sticks and both orange peels. Let come to a good boil and let boil for 10 minutes. Strain through a cloth. Cool to lukewarm before you add the alcohol.

1 quart of alcohol will make 5 quarts with the gallon of distilled water.

Add food coloring to suit your desired color, then add the anise. Do not use oil of anise.
