GRANDMA'S CHEW BREAD 
16 oz. pkg. lt. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine sugar and eggs in a heavy saucepan, stirring well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients, stirring mixture well. Spoon mixture into a greased and floured 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and cut into squares. Yield about 3 dozen.
