GOOD WHITE CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 stick butter
3 c. sugar
2 c. buttermilk
4 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. butter flavor
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
Dash of salt
6 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavor

Cream butter, butter and sugar very well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk beating constantly. Add flavorings. Beat egg whites separately until stiff and fold in. bake in 3 (9 inch) cake pans or 2 (9x13 inch) cake pans at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 c. Crisco
1 (2 lb.) bag powdered sugar
8-9 tbsp. water or milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring

Cream Crisco; add powdered sugar, water and flavorings. Beat slowly.
