CHOW MEIN | |
2-3 chicken breasts or pork chops Marinade (soy sauce, sugar, salt) Soy sauce 1 1/2 c. chicken broth (or bouillon) MSG (optional) Chopped onion Chopped celery Fresh or canned bean sprouts (any other veggies as desired - mushrooms, broccoli, water chestnuts, etc.) Bone and cut up meat. Marinade while preparing veggies (or up to several hours in refrigerator) in small amount - to coat generously - of marinade (soy sauce with a generous pinch each of sugar and salt). Brown meat in hot oil wok or large fry pan. Add a few shakes of soy sauce and a small amount of MSG (if desired), the celery, onions, and any other raw vegetables. Stir fry a few minutes. Add broth, simmer about 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons cornstarch to a little water and stir into mixture. Stir and thicken. Add any canned vegetables to heat through. Serve over rice or chow mein noodles. |
