SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 c. fine fresh bread crumbs 1/4 c. finely chopped onion 1/2 c. milk (scant) 1 egg 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. butter 1 can cream of mushroom soup Combine first 8 ingredients. Mix well and shape into balls using one tablespoon for each ball. Melt butter in fry pan and brown meat balls well, turning as needed to brown evenly. Cover. Turn flame to low. Cook just until done, 15 or 20 minutes. Make gravy from drippings and one can mushroom soup diluted with one can water. |
