SCALLOPED TOMATO CASSEROLE 
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Combine above ingredients.

Layer 3/4 of the bread cubes and the tomato mixture in a greased casserole dish. Arrange remaining cubes on top. 1/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Pour butter on top and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
