CINNAMON BUTTERMILK COFFEE CAKE | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 1 egg 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Combine 2 cups flour, sugar in large mixing bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Set aside 3/4 cup crumb mixture. Combine remaining crumbs and 1/3 cup flour. Add egg, buttermilk, soda, cinnamon and stir just enough to moisten. Pour batter into a greased 9 inch square pan. Combine reserved crumb mixture with nuts; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until it tests done. Cut into squares. |
