1 lb. butter 6 eggs, separated 3 c. brown sugar 5 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. vanilla 1 lb. dates 1 lb. English walnuts 1 c. black walnuts Juice of 1 lemon Cream butter and sugar, add egg yolks, vanilla, and lemon juice. Sift flour, baking powder, and cinnamon together. Flour the dates and nuts with 1/2 of the flour mixture. Fold into the sugar mixture, then fold in beaten egg whites. Bake for 2 1/2 hours at 250 degrees. |
