1 lb. butter 1 lb. sugar 2 lb. chopped dates 2 lb. chopped pecans 1 lb. flour (use 1 c. flour to dredge dates), plain flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 6 eggs Juice of 1 lemon Sift together flour and cinnamon. Cream sugar and butter until smooth and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add juice of lemon and vanilla. Mix in dates with spoon. Add nuts. Mix well with spoon. Put in large greased tube pan. Bake in slow oven at 275 degrees for 2 hours. |
