FRISCO STEW 
1 1/2 c. dry Navy beans
1/2 lb. hamburger
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 c. canned tomatoes
3 med. onions, sliced 1/4 inch thick
6 or 7 strips bacon
1 tsp. salt

Boil beans until tender, keeping water to a minimum towards end of cooking. Add salt. Brown meat in pan. Combine beans, browned hamburger, and tomatoes. Cook 5 minutes.

Pour half of mixture in baking dish. Sprinkle with half of sugar, layer with sliced onions. Put remainder in dish and another layer of onions. Cover with bacon. Add rest of sugar and bake until brown. Do not cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. About 12 servings.
