FRUIT NUT SQUARES 
1/2 box brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour (cake flour)
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
2 eggs
1 stick butter
1/2 lb. candied cherries
2 c. nuts

Melt butter. Cream sugar. Beat in eggs. Add flour and vanilla. Place nuts on bottom of greased 2 1/2-inch deep 8 x 13-inch pan. Pour batter over nuts. Cut candied cherries and pineapple. Place on top of batter. When done, cut in squares.

Bake in 300°F oven about 40 minutes.

Makes about 12 servings.
