BUTTER COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3 3/4 c. flour

Cream first four ingredients. Add vanilla. Stir in flour. Roll 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out with cookie cutters and place on ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 30 to 36 cookies.
