CHRISTMAS CRANBERRY DESSERT 
CAKE:

1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
2 c. cranberries, washed & cut in half

SAUCE:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 (12 oz.) can Carnation evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter

CAKE: Mix sugar, oil, 1 egg, beaten, and milk alternately with flour. Fold in cranberries. Pour into 8 x 13 inch buttered loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, or until done. Cool. Cake freezes well.

SAUCE: Mix all ingredients and boil until consistency of syrup. Pour hot syrup on cooled cake. Serves 8.
