GIFTAS - SWEDISH CRANBERRY

2 (1 lb.) cans whole cranberry sauce
1/4 c. sugar
2 c. Saltine cracker crumbs
2 tbsp. butter, melted
2 c. whipping cream, whipped
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar with cranberry sauce in a bowl. Combine melted butter and cracker crumbs in another bowl. Whip cream and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Layer in a clear glass serving dish as follows: layer crumbs; layer cranberries; layer cream. Repeat layers as you wish. Chill 2 to 3 hours. Best if eaten same day.

TIP: This is very pretty when finished. Use a clear glass dish with straight up sides (not flared) and pass, allowing guests to serve themselves. It is an old Swedish recipe originally made with Lingonberries.
