ROASTED GARLIC BULBS | |
4 whole garlic bulbs 4 tsp. butter 1/4 c. olive oil 1/2 tsp. dried basil or thyme leaves 1 loaf Italian or French bread Remove outer leaves of skin from each garlic bulb, leaving bulb intact. Press 1 teaspoon butter into top of each bulb. Place bulbs in center of a large sheet of double thickness heavy-duty foil. Drizzle with olive oil; sprinkle with basil. Loosely wrap foil around garlic to seal in juices. Bake in oven 1 1/2 hours in a shallow pan in a 325 degree oven or until tender. Squeeze garlic onto crusty bread and enjoy. |
