1 lb. dates, cut into sm. pieces 1 lb. English walnuts, chopped 1/4 lb. black walnuts, chopped 4 c. all-purpose flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. BLAIR nutmeg 2 tsp. BLAIR cinnamon 1 lb. butter 1 lb. brown sugar 6 eggs 1 tsp. lemon juice Toss dates and nuts in a portion of flour and set aside. Sift flour, baking powder and spices. Cream together butter and brown sugar, set aside. Beat eggs slightly and add to flour spice mixture. Fold in nuts and dates. Add lemon juice and blend. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and bake 2 1/2 hours at 275 degrees. |
