1 c. shortening
4 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Cut shortening into flour with a fork until the mixture is the consistency of small peas and corn meal. Combine remaining ingredients and mix with flour. Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into various shapes with cookie cutters.

Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
